I wish all of the House of Representatives could be required to read them before they vote on the cloning bills. Since that is unlikely to happen, in answer to Stan's question, "But who's giving a heads up to those congressfolks who, like I, could be led down the proverbial Primrose Path by the benign-sounding rhetoric." --I think the answer is you and me, and everyone else who believes stem cell research is important - we have to keep trying to get the facts through to Capitol Hill. There's lots of good information on the web. The site Raymond mentioned "Seniors Allied for Biomedical Research" http://www.sabr.us is excellent. So is CAMR - www.camradvocacy.org They also provide an easy way to contact your reps.
