Scott,
Mary Ann's email is exactly right.

I taught elementary school all my life but didn't go to an attorney
initially and it was awful. I had PD with multi work difficulties and was
denied 3 times before I finally broke down and went to an attorney who
actually specializes in Social Security Disability. (It's very important to
get the right attorney!) The application was old hat to my attorney and the
claim was accepted in a matter of weeks without the major grief I previously
experienced. It took 4 years for mine to be accepted but in the end I
did get payments for all that time.

Good luck with the process. Niwana
