emphasizing excellence in teaching and research. As one of the most
"internationalized" universities in Canada Saint Mary's offers a unique
university experience.

Saint Mary's University is seeking an experienced teacher of writing to
fill the newly created position of Director, Writing Centre. Reporting
directly to the Vice-President Academic and Research, the Director,
Writing Centre will work in close collaboration with faculty and
academic support units at Saint Mary's.

Building on a strong history of student service, the Director will be
responsible for promoting the
Writing Centre and its initiatives to students and faculty as well as
designing and implementing
an effective training program for Student Writing Assistants. The
successful candidate will have a record of success in teaching,
planning, marketing, promoting cooperation, and the ability to establish
a vision for the future. A minimum of a Master's degree in a discipline
relevant to the teaching of writing is required.

Salary range $49,155 - $60, 425. Consideration of applications will
begin May 12, 2003 and will continue until the position is filled. The
