My name is Eileen Duncan. I am 63 and I was diagnosed with Parkinson's last
November. My problem is that I have a form of Parkinson's that no one else I
have met so far has.

Please is there (a) anyone out there with the same symptoms as me and (b)
anyone who has found something to help them.

My problem is abdominal pain, especially while sitting or lying down which
means my lifestyle is totally restricted as I cannot sit for long,
especially in the afternoon and evenings. I am desperate to find something
which will help me or someone I can talk to.

I have now been on 6mg of Ropinirole 3 times a day for the last 4 weeks and
my consultant said when I saw him last that if the symptoms don't clear up
with Ropinirole then they must be due to something else other than
Parkinson's. And yet it is described just as I have it in Robin D Fross's
article "Abdominal Pain in Parkinson's Disease' in the APDA Newsletter,
Winter 1994-5.

I had various tests carried out while investigating what it was in the first
place - all of which were negative. I also have various Parkinson type
symptoms which don't bother me a great deal and which I can cope with. But
not the abdominal pain!

Please, please - can anyone help?

  Eileen
