In an article written by Michael Rezak, MD, PhD in the Spring 2001 APDA Young Parkinson's Newsletter, he wrote: " Approximately 40-50% of PD patients have pain and/or sensory complaints as part of their disease during the course of their illness.....evidence is now well established that the basal ganglia not only serves a significant role in motor functions, but also is involved in processing sensory information.
