Greg, Maxine, et al.,

Isn't that what Bill Bell did in Washington? I know their facility is for PWPs, but I don't know any of the other particulars.

Greg, are you looking for such a place in the Bay Area? I don't know of any. But if you called The Family Alliance (don't have their number (call SF info), the Outreach Dept. at the Parkinson's Institute in Sunnyvale, 408-734-2800, Sridevi Sheshadri [log in to unmask] , or possibly Avenidas Senior Center, in Palo Alto, www.avenidas.org, 650-326-5362.

Just saw this in the Avenidas newsletter: (You could pass this event onto whoever needs it. They could call Avenidas or Little House senior center in Menlo Park and get the names and numbers of the people giving the presentation. A little brain picking never hurt anyone.)

"Options for Senior Living for Baby Boomers"

Come to a free event...Saturday 6/7 from 10 a.m. to noon at Little House...Menlo Park. Hear a panel of housing experts discuss pros and cons of staying in your home versus other living alternatives. Talk with reps from more than 25 senior communities and home care agencies. For info call Avenidas 326-5362 ext.16 or Little House 326-2025.
etc etc.... It must also be on the Avenidas web site.

Well, that's all she wrote,

Does anyone know whether there are currently any assisted-living facilities that are designed to accomodate people with Parkinson's, particularly those who may still be in their middle years and not otherwise infirm? I had heard a year or so ago about a hospital wing designed for PWP in NY, and occaisionally the idea is floated around, but I am looking for something that might exist currently or be beyond the planning stages. Thanks, Greg
