Hi1 Maxine:
    I doubt if L-carnitine is the same as Acetyl-L-Carnitine. I didn't even
know if this had anything to do with weight loss. Anyway, go to the
website WWW.findarticles.com and punch in Acetyl-L-carnitine. You get good
article "Townsend Letter for Doctors and Patients july 2001. NewAdvances in
Parkinson's Disease By Dr. David Perlmutter.
However, some people in the list serv did not find good results with
glutathiione injections. He also talks about Acetyl-L-carnitine.

Also go to the PUBMEd website and punch in Acetyl-L-carnitine & PD. You
get a lot of articles on its protective effects on PD animal model systems.

You can get this commercially from Swanson Vitamins on the Web.

    Good luck!
    Raj
