Has anyone noticed something missing in the President's remarks? He said, "Our biotechnology industry is the strongest in the world, and we need to keep it that way." (Applause.) Can you think of a stronger statement for supporting stem cell research? I can't. I'm not surprised that he didn't mention stem cells, but in the back of his head he must certainly be accumulating data showing that if he is to keep the biotechnology industry of the U.S. the strongest in the world, he must allow, and even support, stem cell research. Let's hope this starts to enter his conscious mind and that he understands this soon.
