Good Morning folks,

There are a long lines of extended hands across both countries
sending positive thoughts, prayers and well wishes to Murray
and his family during this difficult and challenging time.

Murray's daughters emailed me with this update:

Murray was admitted to Vancouver General Hospital yesterday
into the Jimmy Pattison Pavilion on the 12th floor Wing 12B in
room number 620 . They got to work and immediately did some
more blood testing and repeated a chest xray. He has also had
a counseling session to talk about best and worst case scenarios.
He is in decent spirits.

This was followed by a re-examination of the CT scan he had
last week. They have now decided to do a bronchoscopy as the
next step. This procedure will be done today.

[A bronchoscope is a small flexible tube which is inserted through
the nose and down into the lungs. It has 3 channels inside : the
first channel has a fiber optic channel that delivers light to the
end of the scope; the second channel has an optic system that
allows the physician to view inside the lungs; the third channel
allows the physician to sample tissue, with biopsy tools or aspirate
fluid from the different parts of the lungs. ]

They have decided not to drain the fluid at this time in anticipation
of perhaps having to perform a thoracoscopy later (apparently
having the fluid in his left lung present makes the procedure easier) .

His daughters did say that they would be with him at the hospital today
and they would let me know about any updates. His family asks that we
all "Keep positive thoughts flowing in this direction please. "

Hugs,
Gail Vass
