-------- Original Message -------- Subject: [attw-l] Position Announcement, U of New Mexico Date: Mon, 22 Sep 2003 14:17:23 -0600 From: Richard Johnson <[log in to unmask]> Reply-To: "Association of Teachers of Technical Writing" <[log in to unmask]> To: "Association of Teachers of Technical Writing" <[log in to unmask]> We are pleased to announce an open position in Rhetoric, Writing, and/or Composition at the University of New Mexico (see advertisement below). We are building a very nice Rhetoric and Writing program (BA, MA, Ph.D.). It's a place where new faculty members receive strong mentoring and guidance but still have room to shape the program to their interests. The department has a strong national reputation. Plus, New Mexico is a really nice place to live. The Sandia Mountains (10,644 ft.) are just on the edge of Albuquerque, and Santa Fe is an hour north. The place is full of diversity and culture. If you like an active lifestyle and sunshine, New Mexico is a great place to be. I will be heading up the search. So, if you have any questions, please send them my way. I will try to answer them as far as I am allowed. Since we are accepting applications from "advanced assistant professors," I will keep any pre-application inquiries confidential. Professor Richard Johnson-Sheehan Director of Rhetoric and Writing University of New Mexico Beginning to Advanced Assistant Professor of English, specialization in rhetoric, writing, and/or composition.
