Parkinson's Support Group To Be Started

Approximately 1.5 million people in the United States have Parkinson's disease.

It affects men and women equally and no geographic, ethnic, occupational or socioeconomic group is at higher risk.
Parkinson's disease is not contagious, and there is no link to dietary or environmental cause.

The disease develops so gradually that most afflicted are unaware of the changes that occur within their bodies. The
effects become incapacitating within time. Fortunately modern treatments control troubling symptoms.

To help those with Parkinson's disease to have an opportunity to interact with others with a common problem a support
group is being started. The first meeting will be at the Calvary Assembly of God Fellowship Hall, 1012 Eaton St.,
Brush, at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept 18.

Sue McNaughton of the Parkinson's Association of the Rockies will be the speaker.

People with Parkinson's, their families and caretakers are welcome. For information call 842-5838.
