Hi! Everybody:
Is there a Chinese among us?

I am always on the look out for herbal approach for PD. I recently ran into a reference given below, whch claims that a flavonoid (WOGONIN) from the herb Scutellaria baicalensia Georgi has specific anti-inflammatory activity by inhibiting microglia. Inflammatory activity of microglia is one of the factors that aggravate PD. By inhibiting this inflammation, wagonin appears to protect neurons from further damage.
I was wondering if anybody knows Chinese name for this herb (if so, can you please write this down in English letters?) and if this is available in Chinese herbal shops in North America. A related herb Scutellaria radix also has similar activity.
Ref: Lee, H et al., 003. Flavonoid wogonin from medical herb is neuroprotective byinhibiting inflammaory activation of microglia. The FASEB Journal Express Article 10.1096/fj.03-0057fje. Published on line Aug 1, 2003.
    Thanks a lot.
    Always curious,
    Raj
