Dear Ervin,
Our support group meets at 7:30 at the First Congregational Church on
Middlebelt Rd. just south of long lake (west side of the road) on the third
Monday of every month (Sept 20 should be our next meeting - I'll keep you
posted if you are interested).
According to the members of our support group, Dr. Junn is one of the
best around. You've picked the right hospital and the right doctor. Don't
worry - the folks in our group who have had DBS rave about the results.
My husband has seen Dr. Lewitt at Beaumont but his neurologist is Dr.
Watson out of St. Joes. When Jamie was ill last year we recognized that he
needed a neuro at the same hospital where his internist practiced. Dr.
Watson knows Dr. Lewitt (they both taught at Wayne State) so he is aware of
any new studies taking place at Beaumont and will recommend Jamie for one of
them if anything looks promising for his case.
