 It is a campus with a difference: a dynamic, challenging and
welcoming environment. We pride ourselves on our academic
excellence, our personal approach to education, and our distinctive
programs. We have an outstanding faculty and an increasingly
diverse student body. We are primarily an undergraduate university
with strong programs in arts and science, and several professional
areas. The University also offers graduate programs in six areas.

The Department of English offers undergraduate Major and Honours
degrees, with courses ranging from contemporary cultural studies
to Old English, with a special concentration on women's literature;
theory, including feminist and queer theory; children's literature;
