1.  To Marcy I say:  Tufte took his message to heart and modeled it by
choosing the (beautifully designed) medium of the pamphlet and that $7
is the right price for such a product.  He didn't publish the article in
an academic journal (where it wouldn't find its audience) or inflate the
contents to become an (expensive, mostly empty) book.  Spend the dough.
Or get your library to order a few copies.
 
2.  To Wendy I say:  and not just those economics students.  Tufte says
"the really lightweight slides are found in the presentations made by
educational administrators."
 
3.  Though I'm not usually keen on the PowerPoint medium ("no power,
usually, seldom any point") I **do** like this presentation, which is a
lovely subversive use of the medium that is funny and - - I suspect - -
effective.
