Carl,

I retired from teaching, then got PD some years later.  I worked part-time a
few years until PD made it impossible.  The first time I tried for disability
I didn't get it.  I wasn't bad enough like now.   The 2nd atttempt was
successful, but my disability was cut 60%to $148/mo due to my teacher's pension.
I think it all depends on the individua   - what you can and cannot do.
YOunger people seem to work longer.    iI am 67, almost 68 and was diagnosed when
I was 60, the "average" age for onset.

I  can only wish you good luck.  THis is the worst incurable disease I've
ever had.
