for me
'the worst case scenario'
is a concept born out of ignorance
(i.e. no knowledge - not no etiquette!)
sired by our societal fascination and
maybe even addiction to fear-mongering
horror-stories can be
spine-chilling and thrilling
but such illusions can not serve
as a modus operandi for our life here
(unless we are in the casino aka insurance
business!)
why do we prefer to look ahead
for 'the worst case'?
why do we never look ahead
for 'the best case'?
why are we looking ahead at all?
don't we have enough to do?
if i look for the worst possible outcome of any
situation
i will visualise that outcome
i wlll be drawn to those influences which look to me
like they 'fit' that outcome
thus corroborating my fears
thus intensifying my visualisation
and thus enabling the feared outcome
to actualise as a 'self-fulfilled prophecy'
do you know what will happen to you
tomorrow?
in january?
in 2010?
why don't you know?
why don't i know?
if anyone truly knew,
wouldn't they own the entire world?
wouldn't the one who owns it
thus also know it the best?
wouldn't the one who knows it
thus also be the one who created it?
all theoretical hypothetical, rhetorical questions,
maybe
but i know
we are not being toyed with
we are not being punished
we are guilty of nothing
our only task here is learning
from that which we are given
we have the 'best possible scenario'
in our hands and hearts
here and now
