hello ray and art, yes, my mom just had the DBS procedure done at kaiser in LA last week, she was just released from the hospital on Monday.....so it is somewhat early in her recovery to observe significant results....however my mom says her tremor has been reduced greatly, she is able to sleep better... she is going for an adjustment next week..."want to zoop up the power";) A Parkinson specialist, Dr. Silver and her Neuro at Kaiser recommended DBS, and yes my mom had a Palliodotomy 7 yrs ago at Loma Linda under the care of Dr. Iaconna. I must say with the Palliodotomy, there were immediate and significant results for my mom, really on the miraculous level....And the surgery itself did not seem as serious or scary as dbs. Two days after the pall. surgery, my mom and entire family were hiking the bluffs at Torey Pines in san diego.... Hoping the dbs has similar results in the days ahead..... praying for a cure.... peace and merry thoughts happy holidays everyone tess > [Original Message] > From: Rayilyn Brown <[log in to unmask]> > To: <[log in to unmask]> > Date: 12/16/03 7:33:36 PM > Subject: Re: DBS after pallidotomy?Yes, I think > > Art, > > I just remembered - Tess Owens' mom just had DBS at Kaiser and I understand > she had palliodotomy some years ago.
