Art: Yes, DBS has and can be done on some after pallidotomy - however, both
are only temporary means to try to gain time (and money) and are potentially
destructive. There is a Cord Cell Therapy on the horizon and I will be
posting more information about it this week - real hope and improvement from
dopamine producing neurons being placed back in the nigra of the brain (done
successfully on humans with no side effects, morbidity or mortality)...I
have possibly missed some information posts to the list due to address
change by me, so anyone needing more information on our Quest for a Cure or
Dr. Garg's Cord Cell Therapy please contact me at [log in to unmask]
anytime. I will be posting an update on the Quest this week also...Marie

Subject: DBS after pallidotomy?

> In preparation for the luncheon that we had honouring Barbara Patterson
and
> the tenth anniversary of the list, I tried contacting some of the older
> listmembers. By older I mean some of the members from the list's earlier
> days, not necessarily chronologically older. Among these people was Barb
> Mallut, now living in a retirement home in West Hills, California. Barb
> had been moved there by her daughters after she had some serious problems
