SOUTH FLORIDA: ALZHEIMER'S/PARKINSON'S GROUP ... Support Group Opens Office December 25, 2003 INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — The Alzheimer/Parkinson Group of Indian River County offices, 2501 27th Ave., Suite A-3, Airport Center, Vero Beach, are now open 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday through Friday. The support group is a non- profit organization that provides a wide range of services for victims and families directly and indirectly affected by Alzheimer's and Parkinson's diseases. In addition to monthly educational meetings and networking lunches, support groups meet on a regular basis with a registered nurse as a facilitator. The group offers a lending library, phone support and educational materials for caregivers and victims that keeps our members informed of the latest up-to-date treatments available. On Jan. 21, the film "The Forgetting," will air on PBS (check the local listing for times). The film, is a sensitive in- depth presentation that shows how Alzheimer and Parkinson's diseases affect victims and their extended families and caregivers and the communities in which they live.
