Mario,
This is Paula from PA, diagnosed 5/27/92. I have had DBS (both sides/
October 2000. I know had I not gone through it I would be in a wheelchair.
But my legs hurt terribly from 1998 til the present. I had all kinds of
tests done, including ultrasounds before and after surgery. No one can tell
me what causes it. The thinking seems to be that it is part of PD. My
surgery was successful, but I cried during the surgery and all night after
and my legs swelled to unbelievable proportions. My family doctor said I
should try a stocking from the medical equipment center and/or try leg
pumps. I faithfully got into the leg pumps three times a day .........and
weeks went by......but the swelling went down. At this point in time I have
no swelling, but must not wear tight knee highs or the pain returns. I hope
this helps you somehow. (At one point before I went for surgery, I had so
much pain that I was hospitalized locally and then taken by ambulance to
Philadelphia. Megadoses of morphine finally put me in la-la land. I don't
remember much that went on during that time. Please don't be discouraged.
Paula

Subject: Leg Pain

> Neither Acupuncture nor Chiropractor were able to do any good.
> As I read literature on leg pain, the ones that come the closest to my

> They both describe my condition to a "T".
> Question: Is this PD taking its toll? - Can it be PD related?
> What sort of test should I have done?
> Is a neurologist the right doctor to be looking at this?
> Any answers will be appreciated.
