Joan-
This is fabulous news, and I hope other states follow the example set by
Illinois!

My two oldest children had a child a little over a year ago, and I had the
privilege of being present for both births. I had mentionoed cord blood
storage to both, but they never persued the idea. If it doesn't turn your
stomache to picture this, I could have cried when I saw the huge pan holding
the discarded cord (which I got to cut on my first granddaughter)! I
thought about all of the research possibilities that were going to be tossed
in the trash.

It would behoove each of us to initiate or support such legislature in each
of our states or provinces or even countries. We have nothing to lose and
everything to gain! Thank you, Joan, for your informatioon and your undying
quest in findin a cure!

Peggy
