At last... For the past couple of days we have held a constructive
politically based discussion (yes discussion regarding the content of this
board is political) and while opinions were strongly expressed we did not
bash or call names.

If only those that posted responses, and read them, would keep it mind when
they post in disagreement with either world leaders or others on this board.
I am convinced that even those who disagreed with me have read these
messages and perhaps learned something about each other or themselves.

My suggestion would be that each person read their own postings before they
push the send button. Substitute the name of a loved one or a leader you
respect for the person, organization or country they mentioned. Read it
again. If they would feel comfortable hearing others speak that way then
post it. If not then tone it down unless you don't care if your message is
lost.

Since it seems we have decided it is appropriate to post political beliefs
and feeling here so we can learn of and respect our complex similarities and
differences...

I was a Hippy... (Still am in many ways)
I am a Republican... (Though registered Democrat, long story)
I believe in evolution...
I believe abortion is wrong...
I believe birth control is ok...
I don't believe sex is a sin but do believe being disloyal in your marriage
is...
I am a Veteran and proud of it...
I believe the world must rid itself of homicidal mass murderers... (if you
debate who they are and how to do it very long you won't have to worry about
it eventually... guess why?)
I believe the UN will never be capable of doing that... (same reason why
this board will never be able to uniformly back a single political
candidate)
I believe in Gay and Lesbian marriages...
I believe the root of every major war in 20th and 21st century is religion
with each side claiming God was with them... (Don't think God can be on
everyone's side though)
I believe its ok to eat meat... (but feel bad doing it when I think of it)
I believe animals do have feelings and many can demonstrate a much higher
intelligence than we can imagine... (we must respect that when doing
research... did you know neurologists wack off the top of cat brains and
then teach them how to walk again)
I wonder how many people that believe abortion and human cloning are ok
would at the same time be abhorred at the cat experiments... (Not meant to
enflame just to stimulate thought on the issues)
I feel for the animals but do understand the need for the research...
I believe in Stem cell research...
I don't believe in using products of abortion in any research in any way
ever...
I don't believe in human cloning...
I believe there is a fine line between heroism and cowardice and I have
stepped on both sides in my life...
I believe we should treat all people equally but all people were not created
equal...
The Universe is in a constant state of seeking final balance, everything we
do in one way or another plays a part in that balancing act... (By the way,
final balance is a one big ball of mass and energy held in perfect balance.
We don't exist. After that God will step in and blow it up again and it
will repeat perhaps in a slightly different way)
We are stronger together... (We should try to maintain that balance for as
long as we can but it will eventually change because the Universe has yet to
reach this round of balance)

Respectfully
