Dear Charolette:

Thanks for the advice and information. Trish started out on Mirapex for her
PD and it was a disaster for her; she got so depressed; then she switched to
Sinemet. But she hasn't tried the Requip yet. The Sinemet has helped with
the PD (although it is already less effective than it was at first) but it
has made the RLS worse. We are going to consult a specialist in PD in San
Francisco soon. Her current neuro is less aggressive than I would like.
Thanks again for your response.

Rob

also prescribed for restless legs syndrome. I've taken both of these drugs
for PD, and both worked 100% to relieve restless legs. I don't use either
of them for PD anymore, but I still take 1/2 of a 0.25 mg tablet of Mirapex
for RLS, and it takes care of it completely.

starting with an agonist instead of going straight to Sinemet. But that's
another story--there are disadvantages and advantages to the various
medication strategies for newly diagnosed PWPs--people living with
Parkinson's.

recently diagnosed with PD just about the time we adopted our daughter who
is now 2. Trish, my wife, suffers quite a bit from Restless Legs Syndrome
and the Sinemet seems actually to make that condition worse. Do any of you
have any suggestions?
