I had unilateral PD for about 6 yrs then got tremors on right side (not hand)
 My understanding is that this is what can happen as the disease progresses.

4 movement  disorder specialists diaganosed me with PD and  I have PET scan
from UCLA which says I indeed have PD.  The meds don't help me either.  This
last year and few mos I have gotten more symptoms, like difficulty speaking and
swallowing.

Bilateral DBS only helped tremors, altho my understanding is that it
sometimes helps dystonia..  My hands are like paws - now that drives me nuts.  It's
hard to decide which sypmptom is worse -for my first yrs it was tremor.

Also, I'm not exercising anymore,  it's so painful and I used  to urge
veryone to exercise.
