Dear Inkshedders, Please share the information below with colleagues and
students in any field who might be interested in making headway on a
writing project this summer. Sondra Perl's workshops are an excellent way
to break through writer's block on academic as well as creative or more
personal projects--or simply to break through to deeper connections and
levels of thinking. Feel free to forward this e-mail, to print and
distribute it, or to refer colleagues to the full brochure posted on the
Inkshed website.
Many thanks--Betsy Sargent

ANNOUNCING….

Felt Sense -- Writing with the Body

August 6 ~ 11, 2004

In British Columbia

SONDRA PERL

At its core, writing connects the mind and the body. Learn to listen to
what your body knows, to what is on the edge but not yet in words, to
cultivate “felt sense” so that you can work and write at the edge of your
thinking.

Felt sense is key to understanding how new ideas come to us. Working with
it leads to spontaneity, surprising insights and evocative, precise
language. Sondra Perl guides you in shaping your work and also in learning
to listen attentively to the felt edge in others’ texts. Use this method to
discover meaning, to get started on difficult projects, or to turn initial
musings into polished pieces. While experimenting with voice and form,
deepen your understanding of the sources of your own thinking and
creativity and your appreciation of this wellspring in others.

Open to anyone who writes or who has ever had the urge to write.

Tuition: $495 CDN, $367 US (meals & accommodations extra), 5 nights
