When birth control pills are used to suppress ovulation, I have no problems. When they are used to prevent implantation of a fertilized embryo, I have problems (in a woman who is active sexually and who uses no other form of birth control, that means a monthly abortion). I suspect that this occurs more frequently than not (with the "low-dose" pills), but I try not to obsess about it. I am not happy with what the in vitro clinics do, either, but am not in a position to do anything about it. I feel that it is attitudes such as that which lead to the general cheapening of life in other spheres, but that's yet another story. Best, Bob Robert A. Fink, M. D., F.A.C.S., P. C.
