Hi Wendy:
This was done by NIH Neurologists who undertook a genetic screening for
PD patients. I enrolled in this study last year. I sent my blood sample
by mail. I presume they studied the DNA or RNA for the genetic variation
among PD patients.
For a day or teo, I thought thaat I wasnot having PD because I did not
have the known genetic changes commonlyfound inPWP. However, it ocurred to
me that a more valid interpretation of this result would be that we do not
know all the various genes that could possibly involved in PD. It is likely
that people from different ethic geneology may have different genes mutated
which could produce symptoms of PD. All I can think of is that this is a
very complex disease and we need to know more about it.
