Dear Ms. Johnson: First, may I offer you my sympathy on the diagnosis. My wife was probably about the same age when she first had PD but the diagnosis was longed delayed. We have a 2 year old. She took Mirapex before trying Sinemet. Her experience is not typical I understand but it was definitely not a good thing for her. She became very tired and got very depressed. I know that many people do very well on Mirapex but you should be aware of possible side-effects. I think my wife persisted too long in staying on Mirapex after it became clear that it wasn't working. The good news is that there are different medications to try so that if one doesn't work, another probably will. My wife is just now starting on Requip which she is taking along with Sinemet. Best of luck to you. I know what a trial it can be with a young child but they do bring us joy in the midst of our struggle with PD. The DR. recommends starting out on Mirapex for his tremor and for also delaying onset of more symptoms. Does anyone have any experience with this med? Do you think this is the way to go? We are going to seek a second opinion also, but your input would be welcome. We are really quite devasted with this, we have a 3 year old son, but plan to deal with it head on . We also see that there are several clinical studies out there, would you recommend we go there? > Thanks, > > > ---------------------------------------------------------------------- > To sign-off Parkinsn send a message to: mailto:[log in to unmask] > In the body of the message put: signoff parkinsn > Lisa > ---------------------------------------------------------------------- To sign-off Parkinsn send a message to: mailto:[log in to unmask] In the body of the message put: signoff parkinsn
