Helping Others: Parkinson Association to auction five themed packages on
April 24

present its fund-raiser, "Auction-4-Action, " during the daytime on April 24
at the Scottish Rite Masonic Center, 6151 H St. Doors will open at 10:30 a.m.
for the silent auction along with the opportunity to preview items on the live
auction block. Biscotti, coffee and tea will be offered during the early
opening.The live auction action will begin at 11 a.m. An open buffet of appetizers,
sushi, finger foods and desserts will be available, along with a no-host bar.
The high energy jazz band of Dr. Bach and the Jazz Practitioners will
perform.




 Headlining the event, and leading the corps of volunteers, will be Kitty
O'Neal, KFBK (1530 AM); and Jack Armstrong and Joe Getty, KSTE (650 AM).

Five packages ranging in value from $1,700 to $6,750 will be offered during
the live auction:

* The dining package includes dinner in your home prepared by Kurt Spataro as
well as gift certificates for Bella Bru, Danielle's Creperie, Lemon Grass,
Paragary's and Scott's, plus author cookbooks, wine glasses and bottles of wine.

* In the entertainment package will be a portable DVD player, Bose audio
system from Paradyme, Tower Records gift card and season tickets for two to
Sacramento Theatre Company.

* The music package will provide boxed set recordings by Elton John, Rod
Stewart, Phil Spector, The Doors, Jeff Beck and Lou Reed, a Tower Records gift
card and a B.B. King guitar.

* For the sports lover, there will be a Mike Bibby signed Kings basketball,
Don Drysdale/Vin Scully signed baseball, Joe Montana signed Superbowl football,
four San Francisco Giants tickets and two Kings Row 2 playoff tickets.

* The New York travel package will include airfare donated by Jet Blue
Airways and three nights accommodation in New York to attend the Michael J. Fox
Benefit Nov. 13 titled "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Cure," as well as
two tickets to "Mamma Mia" on Broadway.

The silent auction items will include a two-hour performance by Dr. Bach and
the Jazz Practitioners, tickets to "The Lion King" in San Francisco, Muhammad
Ali autographed boxing gloves, a timeshare in Cabo San Lucas, a John
Mellencamp guitar, and gift certificates from Goore's for Babies and Teens, Wine and
Roses Hotel and Restaurant in Lodi, Capital Nursery, Rio City Cafe and more.

support groups, respite care, workshops, seminars and more. Parkinson's is a
progressive disorder of the central nervous system.
