FWD. from Parkinson's Unity Walk Office: A Special Message to Any of You Who Are Residents of New York State: Albany Lobby Day, Wednesday, June 2 If you live in the State of New York, please read – and act on – the following important message! The Parkinson’s Unity Walk joins with Parkinson’s Disease Foundation to help New York move forward for the Advancement of Medical Research. On Wednesday, June 2, New Yorkers for the Advancement of Medical Research – the New York “chapter” of the nationwide movement to advance research involving stem-cell technology as a potential solution to human disease – will be holding a Lobby Day at the State Capitol in Albany. The purpose is to visit our elected representatives to express our support for a pro-stem-cell research bill that has been proposed by Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver for the second year in a row. Our main focus will be members of the Republican-controlled Senate, where our argument continues to face a tough challenge. At this time we are asking you to do one of two things: If you can, join us in Albany on June 2. E-mail or call Jen Wineman at the PDF office at: [log in to unmask] or call her at 1-800-457-6676 if you think you may be able to make it, and she will send you information. PDF has allocated a small fund to help cover expenses should you desire to go to Albany and transportation cost is a concern. Please ask Jen Wineman about these options. Plan to meet your elected representative in his or her district office (closer to your home!) on a Friday between now and the end of June, if you are unable to join us in Albany. Again, call or e-mail Jen and she will help you with names, addresses, materials, and anything else you need for the meeting. Please let us hear from you! This is one battle in Parkinson’s in which we can all participate… and it’s a very important one. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- To sign-off Parkinsn send a message to: mailto:[log in to unmask] In the body of the message put: signoff parkinsn
