Hi Caryle,

I was born in the thick of the smoke from WWII when there was a very high % of people who smoked...

My parents both smoked heavily for all of my childhood life and I first lived without second hand smoke at home when I
went to First Year Engineering at age 17...

Then I married a smoker a few years later and more than half of the people I worked with smoked...

I first went to a neurologist with symptoms of something in 1983, we seperated and later divorced in 1988, and I was
finally dx Parkinson's in the '90s at age 48...

Let's see now ... at least 40 years of exposure to second hand smoke... virtually surrounded by smokers...

Does it really mean anything??

I certainly don't know...

What about the genetic link? (Is there one?)

What about the familial link? (Is there one?)

What about the blow(s) to the head? (Is there one?)

What about the environmental concern? (Is there one?)

What about the other toxin? (Is there one?)

I didn't smoke myself... but why didn't some one of us get lung cancer?

Hey! I did! (Almos' forgot...)

Did any of the smokers get anything? My father died at age 79 w/ lung cancer...

My eldest brother succombed to brain tumors at age 59 after a military career that exposed him to years of radar as a
techie in the radar room surrounded by trays of vacuum tubes...

Parkinson's?

My great aunt had Parkinson's but I have no knowledge of her exposure to smoke...

She was institutionalized around the time I was born and passed away when I was 'bout 7...

Everyone else is still hale 'n hearty...

This is a very informal survey and I wouldn't attach to much to it...

cheers ... murray

I was wondering if you all would be willing to help me out with an informal poll about second hand
smoke.

If you were exposed to second hand smoke for an exteded peroid of time can you answer these
question:

1. How many years were you exposed?
2. How old were you?
3. How old were you when you first experienced Parkinson's symptoms?

I lived with a smoker for about 14 years, age 26-39 and my symptoms started when I was about 36.
