Hi George,
I have had PD for 13 years, DBS (both sides) four years ago. I am
getting nervous now about getting replacement batteries when these give out
(5 yrs?) Dr says he'll know when they are getting weaker and will schedule
the procedure. He said mine seem like new. I never turn mine off. I wonder
why some people do. I told my husband that when it's lightening, I hold
something in front of my chest, even did it during a night storm when
driving. He said I just worry too much, but I can't help it and you pretty
well proved that I was right to be careful. The Medtronic Magnets are
wonderful because you can "turn yourself back on " if they stop working.
But I haven't been able to get a remote, so I'm still using an AM transistor
to tell. (I didn't think they made them anymore). Good luck. Paula from PA
