Call For Papers:

Youth and Age in Early Drama

The Medieval and Renaissance Drama Society invites abstracts
for 20 minute papers to be delivered in the above sponsored
session at the International Medieval Congress at the University
of Leeds (11-14 July 2005).

Session Abstract:
This session examines youth and age in early drama. This includes
not only all forms of mimetic representations of the differences or
similarities between the old and the young, but any entertainments in
which the concepts of youth, old age, or the stages of human life are
depicted, enacted, or examined. Examples could include topics as
diverse as: the interlude 'Youth'; Boy Bishop rituals; the slaughter
of the innocents; or participation by the young or old in dramatic
activity, amongst many other possibilities.

Please send abstracts (max. 500 words) for proposed papers by email
to: [log in to unmask] before 10 September 2004. Make sure
to include complete contact information and AV requirements, and
note that accepted participants must commit themselves to attend.
