Congratulations on your decision.
My wife Bodil got her DBS 2 years ago, it's the best we ever have done.
Before she had 18 years in a weelchair, 3 days after DBS she were walking at
the hospital.
Before she har spasms (dystonia) sometimes up to 8 hours daily, after she
have had only one and only for half an hour.
The stifness is much less and not nearly as stiff, and she sleeps better.
We understand you are nervous and we feel for you, we were both afraid and
very silent when we drove the 100 miles to the hospital, but the result make
it all worth.
In Denmark we do'nt pay for the operation, nor for the remotecontrol, so a
day more or less at the hospital dos'nt matter, but Bodil stayed there 10
days after, the time were used to adjust the current.
After returning to home my job as caregiver was much much easier, and the
improvement is going on.
All the best to you.

Bodil and Georg.
