JH,
One of my previous medications was Eldepryl (Selegeline). While I was
taking it, I had frequent problems going to sleep or staying asleep. Other
people on the list had similar experiences. One of the side comments was
to take the Eldepryl early in the day to minimise the side effect. -Geo.

Subject
sleep disorder with Parkinson's

Can anyone tell me if there is any research on sleep with Parkinson's?
My father has a pattern of no sleep at all for several days, and then -
with medication one can't give him regularly - sleeping for a few days.
It is a very bad cycle which he has had before in his disease. But he
is 88 now and it is taking a toll on him. When this most recent bad
period began in 1998, he didn't sleep for a month and a half until s
doctor recommended (after trying EVERYTHING else) Halcion. It is still
the only thing that works.

If you know of ANYTHING on this, please send to me directly or post to
the list.

Thank you.
