Excellent points. A breakthrough could come at any time from anywhere and it could even be from an unlikely source and certainly from outside the USA. The world is full of surprises and while some are pretty damn ugly, sometimes someone somewhere does win the lottery. Parkinson's patients at any time could get their miracle. Why not? As Ray pointed out it was a thrill to hear a serious presidential candidate mention something that might help Parkinson's. More recognition of this dreaded disease means more attention to fixing it.
