GOSSIP: Elizabeth Taylor 'Weeping In Pain' Elizabeth Taylor is reportedly suffering from a degenerative disease, which is crumbling her spine. Thursday October 7, 2004 The ageing screen legend has been discharged from hospital after breaking her back for the fifth time, which doctors allegedly say was caused by osteoporosis. The 72-year-old had been rushed to the Los Angeles clinic "weeping in pain", according to America's National Enquirer magazine, after injuring herself in bed. A source said: "She was in bed when she reached for something and let out a horrifying scream. She was in a world of pain." The ailing Hollywood legend then underwent intensive treatment at a private Los Angeles hospital for two shattered discs in her lower spine.
