Old-timers say that if we can count five good friends in our lifetime, we
are more than fortunate. We are blessed!

That's exactly how I felt about Joan. Blessed. She was one of those
special blessings that came into my life through a computer keyboard.
Keyboarding was never the same after that!

Joan was unique, witty, extremely challenging and intelligent. She gave to
her every day the same grit it took to raise four small children alone.
She colored my life and the lives of others with the same wisdom and wit.

Unfortunately, Joan's BEING was all too short. She didn't get to stay in my
life and the
lives of her family and others nearly long enough. A Higher Power chose
her to
mastermind a new department called "Places to Go and People to See."
A GUIDE was sent to meet her at the light and took her through after finding
her
"permanently" asleep in her lift chair.

To us mere mortals she is now at peace. No more pain to handle and no more
pills
to swallow. But don't kid yourself. She's so busy telling everyone what to
do,
where to go and how to get there that she really is too busy to stop for an
incidental
chat. If you are willing to wait your lifetime, you can make an appointment
now.
She's a woman of her word. She'll show you the around when the time comes!

Dear Joan, I celebrate the privilege of having known you. I celebrate the
music of your life!

First, I offer you one of my favorite Native American prayers:

May Mother Earth guide your feet
May Father Sky keep his arms around you
May Grandfather Sun warm you on cold days
May Grandmother Moon keep the glow in your heart
May the Star Nations light the way to the next destination
And the Great Spirit always keep you shielded from the pain
Blessings to you

Second, I share with you the following piece that Audrey sent me
some many months ago:

Some people come into our lives and quickly go. Some people move our souls
to dance. They awaken us to the understanding with the passing whisper of
their wisdom. Some people make the sky more beautiful to gaze upon. They
stay in our lives for awhile, leave footprints on our hearts, and we are
never, ever the same.

Walk with rainbows, dear Joan.

 With love,
E and the TEDDY BEAR GANG
