SOUTHFIELD -- Former Detroit Pistons player Ray John Scott showed up
at Park West Gallery on Saturday to personally sign a basketball for
the silent auction. It went for $500.

The auction was one of several crowd-pleasing events at A Night to
Remember, a fund-raiser for Michigan Parkinson's Foundation.

An estimated 150 people paid $150 each to enjoy an evening that also
included a live auction, delightful food stations from Steve and
Rocky's, a variety of fine wines and soft drinks, and a dessert and
coffee reception.

Parkinson's disease is a neurodegenerative condition that affects
approximately 35,000 people in Michigan. Although Parkinson's disease
most commonly affects people older than 60, it can occur as early as
age 20.
