My husband has PD and my great-nephew tried to explain it to his little brother. Brian was five and Nicholas was three. Brian said that Uncle Gordie had trouble parking so that is why his hands shake and he falls a lot. Brian makes sure Gordie has his cane and walks behind him with his hand out to try to help him along. All Nicholas can say is, "Gordie's really sick. How come it is taking so long to get all better?" I do not know of any books about the disease, but I am sure there is a need there. I think a simple explanation and then answering questions as they come up.
