QC Update Jan 2005 -"Road to Recovery."

The Quest for Cure efforts are moving down the busiest road yet! Now that Judd and I have completed our intensive learning year in 2004 we are now embarking on what we are calling the road to "recovery". There are tremendous new events that are just occurring which we have faith will lead to productive new options for many in need during this coming year. They include:

- The real possibility of a new neurosurgical clinic that includes a plan for the patient to be included in their own therapy needs. Offering exploration of other beneficial programs, without "experimentation" or incomplete disclosure of information, will be provided for patients to make the best medical decision jointly with medical advisors. - The advent of a nutritional medical program that enhances the mental capacities of the brain through scientifically derived, natural, and proven substances. This program not only enhances the chemical environment of the central nervous system, but addresses the environmental toxicity and dietary needs of the individual in customized ways to reduce or eliminate the dependence on man-made medications and their inevitable side effects. We know there are other proposed ways of promoting changes in the Parkinson's condition, but to date, after years of extensive research and consultation (which will continue to be ongoing) these two situations are the only ones we can say reflect in-hand, observable, positive improvement in Judd's condition. Researchers, movement disorder specialists, mental health specialists and primary care doctors have been consulted. They and the media indicate any reachable new developments for patients are likely to be years away - we know differently - these are avenues we can actively engage in NOW and in the near future THIS YEAR.

In support of these two approaches we are in the process of starting our own home-based exercise regimen to help strengthen the muscles and joints in preparation for regaining balance, mobility and mental clarity. This also will be conducted with nutritional support involving natural and non-toxic foods and juices. We are also committed to improving mental clarity and function by appreciation of the emotional, social, and spiritual strengtheners available to us as we open our hearts to new learning and self-improvement through improved relationships with others. By moving in directions for an end to the competition, profiteering, contentions and the "race for a cure" that delays progress, we encourage increased unity and cooperative efforts - for through such, we may continue on our journeys and can realize the power that is provided to make life better!

In expression of gratitude for so many wonderful and inspiring new friends this past year, we invite all to join or continue with us on our journey.

May God bless everyone's efforts.S.F. and Callie Marie Judd
