I think the best third party is someone who is intimately familiar with the aches and pains of the patient. When Carline (my wife) needs to see a Doctor I go with her and I am with her in the presence of the Doctor. It really is true that it is difficult to get the message across particularly when the patient has trouble speaking as Carline does. But I generally have a pretty good idea of any problems she has and can explain those to the doctor. She has had vision problems but so far no Doctor has been able to understand and/or diagnose the problem. The tests are simply inadequate. K. F.
