They do help on occasion, but caregiving is a singular responsibility. My friends offer to help constantly - however, they are often intimidated by Jamie's dementia. We have poker games here where the guys from our church come to bring him some joy. After watching these wonderful folks struggle trying to get Jamie to participate in the game, I have finally agreed to join in.
