Hello Geoff
I read your touching story this morning from my hotel room in Washington, DC. Linda Herman, co-author of the book you mentioned, is also here. Today, we will prepare for a Tuesday visit to our U.S. Congressional leaders to plea for increasing funding for Parkinson's research. The timing will not be to our advantage as the budget has just been printed and released today, which cuts some 150+ federal programs. I do not know at this time how any of these cuts will affect Parkinson's research, but am certain they will.

Please take a few moments to check on the status of research cuts in the news, on the internet, or elsewhere, then call your legislators TODAY voicing your concerns. This will pave the way for those of us here (over 300 attendees) to enter these congressional offices with a little more ammunition and a lot more confidence.

This is not going to be a good year for research. The President does not support disease-specific research; therefore, we must convincingly present our case of how finding answers to the Parkinson's disease mysteries will have implications for many other neurological illnesses (ALS, Hunnington's, etc.)

Geoff, you are now "one of us," and we need EVERY warm body we can muster to fight this battle. Take charge of your own care - take charge of your own CURE!! Take a few minutes to call the Washington offices today! Tomorrow won't be as effective.

THANKS for your help! UNITED we RULE!
Peggy Willocks- Tennessee
