i agree with you - the extra embryos issue is, in my opinion, a tough one for them to skirt legitimately, but skirt it they do, albeit illegitimately, either by just not mentioning it, or by mentioning it in passing but not addressing it specifically, and my quick search of the president's council on bioethics did not turn up any definitive statements on IVF. your other argument regarding people opposed to the war having to pay for it is another example.

and i agree with rick, that just because the admin says it, it does not make it so, nor does it mean we have to give it credence. the problem is, that there are plenty of people out there who *do* give it credence simply because someone in the admin said it, or even just because it made it into print, which is why you are both so right about speaking out.

Well they still haven't countered the extra embryos problem. Do you remember
the man who presented his in vitro twins to Congress and challenged them
"which of my children willl you kill?" It is my understsanding that there were 6
embryos involved in achieving these 2 births. Somebody was really asleep at
the switch when this in vitro thing got started 3 decades ago, maybe because it
was seen as being fruitful and multiplying. Not much attention was paid to
the "extras" then.

In vitro fertilization occurs in a petri dish, not the old fashioned way. As
in the old fashioned way, many embryos simply fail to implant, that's why
there are extras.and multiple births when they do.

I stand in support of Rick, baiting and switching doesn't make it so.
