This is good news. Ted has continued to have success against pain with the
Turmeric. We use the ground herb from the spice aisle and it seems to work
well. I know that the Curcumin capsules from the health food store are more
concentrated, but having taken herbs for years, we also feel that
*sometimes* taking the "whole" food is better. That is, not separating it
from all the other co-factors that are found with it naturally occurring.
He has just stopped taking the Turmeric because he will be having bi-lateral
DBS in two weeks and needs to steer clear of all anti-inflammatory meds like
aspirin and ibuprofen that would affect blood clotting. We have also
stopped the Turmeric just to be on the safe side. But it has definitely
been effective for pain as he has been off aspirin for more than a week now
and only taking the Turmeric. We are, however, going to continue to eat a
lot of mustard to see if that helps too. Turmeric is one of the ingredients
that gives mustard its yellow color. Mustard, BTW, is a very good food.
Ted takes his Turmeric in Green Tea which is also full of antioxidants.
