Hi:
I can answer to your first question. I was diagnosed in 1999 with PD.
Under some funny circumstances, I decided never to take any prescription
medications till today. Instead I opted for the Ayurvedic and alternative
medications such as antioxidants etc. I am very happy I took that decision,
because I am sure my symptoms have been under control so far and even though
I may not be cured, atleast I am keeping my unwelcome comrade Parkinson at
bay. One of my friends diagnosed at the same time went on prescription
medicine and she is confined to wheel hair and has accepted the
consequences. However, you must understand that PD is a designer disease. It
varies from individual to individual and also progresses at different rates
in different people and so is the response to different drugs.
I am confident there is a cure for PD. It is unfortunate that we haven't
found it yet. I am afraid that with the current Government's attitude and
the insincerity of the FDA, the cure is far away.
    Raj
