This is like the 11th century all over again

Suddenly we are thrust back into the Dark Ages because our President has
just discovered the power of the  politico-religious combo.  It worked very
well for centuries for popes and kings until the 18th century European
Enlightenment brought about by the 17th century age of Science with Isaac
Newton ushered  in new hope and the US.SO. Constitution..  The Salem Witch
Trials of 1692 are seen by some historians as the last gasp of the Age of
Faith  Boy were they wrong.
We've gotta do it all over again and this in an age of free public
education.  Tough luck for us!
