I'm not upset - Ned asked for suggestions on how to effectively
communicate, and I was providing a suggestion. I agree with you -
name-calling on either side is unproductive, and only widens the gap
between the two sides, making coming to an agreement almost impossible.
My tough skin comes from my experience teaching students with behavior
disorders, and my specialization in human behavior. Part of my job is to
try to teach people to more effectively communicate, so I can't help but
jump in on this one. The way to compromise is through finding common
ground, not alienating each other - and as always, that comment is meant
for both sides, liberal and conservative. :)

It works both ways, Wendy, Bill O'Reilly consistently calls liberals
"pinheads" but its no reason to get upset. I watch O'Reilly every day,
not
because  I  agree with what he says, but because he is entertaining.
Guess
teaching in the inner city has toughened my skin.
